When was the Club organized? The Woman’s Club of Laguna Beach was organized in January 1922. 

What is the mission of the Woman’s Club of Laguna Beach? The mission of the Woman’s Club of Laguna Beach is to provide an environment for the enrichment of women through friendship, community service, education, and inclusiveness.

What does the Woman’s Club do? We are a social and community outreach organization. Our social activities include Wine and Cheese Socials, Outgoing Mayor Luncheon, and Woman of the Year Luncheon. Our outreach activities focus on helping women, children, and families in need in our community.

What are some of the community outreach projects the Club supports?

Laguna Beach Unified School District / Back-to-School Backpacks - The Club has been working with the LBUSD for many years, supporting the needs of local children of low-income families by providing school supplies and/or backpacks at the beginning of the school year.

Human Options - The Club supports this organization, which provides immediate shelter to abused women and children on an emergency basis and helps to transition them into more permanent living arrangements, by providing needed items identified by the organization for the women to take with them to their new living space.

Member Holiday Luncheon and Tarnished Treasures Sale - Members and the community donate items that have become ‘tarnished’ for sale at the Holiday Luncheon.  All proceeds from the sale go to support the Club’s various programs that benefit local families-in-need.  

Member Holiday Luncheon / Adopt-a-Family - In addition to the sale which occurs at the Holiday Luncheon, members are given the opportunity to become ‘angels’ by adopting children who have been identified by the LBUSD as low-income.  Wish List items are filled out by these children through Santa’s House on Hospitality Night.  Club members purchase and wrap the wish list items.

Intergenerational Literacy Program for 2nd Graders - Club Member Elsa Brizzi created an after-school program for 2nd graders at the Boys and Girls Club.  This is a three-month program, one day a week, designed to help with reading skills.  Members and adult volunteers from the community work with a specific child to create their own book, entitled “A Special You”, and is focused on helping each child grow their reading skills, thereby achieving more self-confidence to continue wanting to read, which leads to quicker learning ability.  Volunteers are also provided with a brief training period prior to the program’s start.

Gowns and Suits for Military Wives/Husbands Project - Gowns and suits are collected for the Camp Pendleton Military Ball, which is held every November.

Laguna Beach High School Scholarship Program - Two senior students are selected from applications received and each is presented with a scholarship of $1,500 towards their college expenses. 

Laguna Food Pantry - The Club’s Board of Directors committed to ‘adopt’ the Food Pantry in 2018 by asking members to donate items of food suggested by the Pantry at our two annual Wine and Cheese socials.

How can I become a member? We welcome women who wish to become part of our organization. Annual dues are $60, from June 1st to May 31st, and prorated to $30 for those joining after January 1st.  To become a member, please go to our web site at and select “Membership”, “Become a Member” to submit your application and payment. Are there opportunities for social activities? Various events are held throughout the year. Please go to our web site and select “Events” to find our upcoming events.

Are members allowed to rent the facility? Yes, members and non-members are allowed to rent the Clubhouse. Please go to our web site and select “Venue Rental” for more information.

Where is the Clubhouse located? 286 St. Ann’s Drive Laguna Beach, CA 92651.

How many members are in the Club? We currently have approximately 150 members.

Do I have to live in Laguna Beach?  No, several of our members live in surrounding communities.

How much does it cost to join? Annual dues are $60, from June 1st to May 31st, and prorated to $30 for those joining after January 1st.  

Is there an age limit? The Club is open to woman 21 years of age and over.

Are there monthly meetings? The Woman's Club of Laguna Beach holds events throughout the year but there are no monthly meetings. Board meetings are open to all members. Board meetings are held on the second Thursday of the month from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm at the Clubhouse.

What are the requirements of membership besides annual dues? There are no additional requirements for membership. Members are welcome to participate in events throughout the year at their discretion.

 In addition to annual dues, do we pay for each event or are they included in membership? Many events at the Woman’s Club of Laguna Beach are free to attend (e.g., Members Wine & Cheese, various programs, and a Book Club). Additional events are offered that require payment (e.g., Woman of the Year Luncheon, Outgoing Mayor’s Luncheon, and Member Holiday Luncheon.)

Where are events held? Events are held at the Clubhouse.

Are most events held during the day or evening? Weekends? Most events are held on weekdays since the Clubhouse is frequently rented out for events on weekends.

Where is the best place to park when I come to the Clubhouse? Parking is available in front of the Clubhouse, in the parking lot behind the Clubhouse, and metered parking is available on the street.
